Community Connections Projects
Under our Community Connections initiatives we have started the BCLC Furniture and Clothes Re-cycling and Re-use project. This has been set up to plan , manage and operate the recycling and re-use of furniture , bedding and clothing to individuals and families who are in need.
We are working with various local agencies including the local Bridgend County Borough Council , the Probation Service , Housing associations and other sheltered homes organisations.
We operate out of an industrial unit at Pyle where we inspect all recycled articles before cleaning , sorting, storing and displaying into typical home type settings
We are able to make collections and deliveries two times per week at the moment but with additional volunteer help and funding we hope to extend the service still further.
In this unit we also plan to develop a decorating materials recovery scheme whereby we will recover and prepare for re-use unwanted decorating materials so that families who have only limited resources can not only have a starter pack of furniture , clothes and bedding etc. but can also re-decorate their home to their own taste and style.
Under our Community Connections Projects we also operate a Foodstore Project whereby donated food is distributed to families or individual in need in the community.
